Don Gibbs - Chairman & CEO
Don is a serial entrepreneur who has been in the electronics industry since 1970. He started his career with Leigh Instruments and then moved to Mitel Corporation as its CFO where in 8 years he helped the company go public in many jurisdictions and grow in sales revenue to $250 million. After that he became the CFO of Cognos Inc and successfully took it public. This led to the position of President and CEO of Gandalf Systems Inc and then a similar position with Positron Fiber Corporation. In three years he spun this division out as a separate company, took it public and sold it for $200 million US. Don has used his own consulting company to assist many small corporations in getting started and funded.  Don has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa and is a Certified Management Accountant with the Canadian Society of Management Accountants.
Anton Kitai – President & CTO
Prior to founding Process Photonics, Anton worked as Systems Engineering Manager at GSI Lumonics in Ottawa, where he has served several roles over a 7-year period.  His responsibilities included technical leadership of multi-disciplinary research and development teams responsible for complete product life cycle from conceptual design through engineering, test, transfer into production, and sustaining support.  He is highly knowledgeable in the areas of materials processing, lasers, optics, machine design and component integration while being focused on near and long-term market and technology positioning through customer relationships.  He has managed scientists and technicians involved in new systems R&D and sustaining engineering while developing key technology and patent strategies for the laser systems business.  Anton holds a B.Eng. in Engineering Physics from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.
Robert Parker – VP Engineering & Operations
Robert was Electrical Engineering Manager at GSI Lumonics in Ottawa before forming Process Photonics with his partners.  In this position he hired, mentored and managed a team of electrical, hardware and software engineers and technologists in a matrix product development team structure.  His responsibilities included providing technical leadership, leading new product development teams and performing detailed electronic and electrical design projects.  During a 14-year period Robert has gained expertise and contributed in the following areas: electronic control systems, laser controls design and integration, machine design, safety standards compliance, design for manufacturability and customer service and support.  Robert graduated with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 1987.
Ed Williams – Director of Business Development
Originally a laser and laser systems Research Scientist, Ed Williams holds several patents on Excimer Laser design.  Over an 11-year period, Ed held positions as Research Scientist, and Senior Scientist on major laser development programs at GSI Lumonics.  His roles included leading the research teams in the development of discharge laser and power modulator design and development, product support and customer support.  Leaving Lumonics in 1998, Ed joined JDS Uniphase as a Technical Account Manager and then as a Senior Product Line Manager.  His duties included developing Customer Supply Agreements, Market and Product Development Plans, directing Operations continuous improvement plans, driving cost reduction and directly managing the joint product development of R&D teams in Ottawa and Santa Rosa California.  Ed’s final role with JDS Uniphase was the successful transfer of Product Line Management and Technical Support of telecommunications optical components to China.
Bill Young – Director of Sales and Marketing
Bill has a Ph.D. in physics, and enjoyed a 19-year history with GSI Lumonics, starting with the lab development of the dye laser product line and ending as the Sales Manager and Product Line Manager of the Ottawa Custom Systems.  During this time Bill gained exposure to all the Ottawa laser products, and a wide range of laser-based applications and materials processing work.  He contributed to the optical design of a variety of custom systems.  Working out of the Rugby, England facility for 4 years, Bill has broad international experience including both European and Asia-Pacific customers.  Bill left Lumonics to join JDS Uniphase in 1999 as a Technical Account Manager, responsible for the company's major revenue customer at that time.  Most recently he was a Product Line Manager in the components group.  Bill's last activity there was the successful transfer of his product portfolio  and product line management duties to the Asian manufacturing operations.
David Walker - Director of Advanced Technology
Before joining Process Photonics Dave was with Nortel Networks for five years defining and developing next generation optical high-capacity long-haul communication systems working with product line management, leading suppliers and customers. Prior to working at Nortel Dave was at GSI Lumonics as a Senior Project Scientist responsible for developing processes and associated high-powered diode-pumped laser sources for marking, cutting, drilling and welding industrial applications. Dave has also spent several years with Clark-MXR as a Senior Scientist developing ultra high power short pulse frequency agile optical sources after completing a post-doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Toronto. With his unique combination of varied industrial experience and education Dave is in an ideal position to guide Process Photonics in the use of next generation technology to meet customer expectations. Dave has published more than twenty papers and has been awarded more than half a dozen patents throughout his career.
